On May 29th, family, friends and Fellowship Club members came from far and wide and descended on the VFW to celebrate Walter Avery’s 70th birthday and his brother’s 60th. Walter is the oldest of seven children and his youngest sibling turns 60 next year. Walter shared that he felt blessed because his father was able to be present at the event. He said that he was proud that members of the Fellowship Club came out to party with him and his Philly family.
The party was billed as a “Sneaker Ball” and adding to the fun was the display of footwear showcased. Of special note was the Philly sneaker theme (e.g. Eagles) in recognition of Walter’s hometown favorite team.
