On August 2, 2005, of Dumfries, VA, at age 73. Husband of Dr. Helen G. Rountree; father of Maj. Gen. Gregory A. Rountree, USA (Ret.), Dr. Harlan A. Rountree, Dr. Verdi O. Lethermon, Loyonne Milton, Herbert Alex Rountree Jr. and Tiffany Milton; brother of Willie Rhea White and MSG USA (Ret.) Henry B. and 1SG USA (Ret.) Charles C. Rountree. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2005 at the AMES FUNERAL HOME, 8914 Quarry Rd, Manassas, VA, and 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2005, at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 18410 Chapel Dr., Triangle, VA, where funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Rev. Dr. Alfred Jones, Jr., presiding. Interment with Full Military Honors, 1 p.m. October 19, 2005 at Arlington National Cemetery. (Friends are requested to meet at 12:30 p.m. at the Administration Building.)
