Gene Keith Bryson Obituary

BRYSON GENE KEITH BRYSON, Colonel U.S. Army (Ret.) Departed this life on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He was born on March 15, 1943 to Levi and Dorothy Bryson in Galax, Virginia. Gene is survived by his wife of 42 years, Andrea; two children, Steven (Kim), Renee (Brandon); three grandchildren, Brianna, Davis, and Jaylen; two brothers, Gary Mike Bryson (Iona), William Bryson (Mary), one aunt, Lillian Bryson; sisters-in-law, Romesa Scott (Donn), Charlita Lemons; one brother-in-law, Romeo Lambert, Jr. (Rhonda); several cousins, nieces and nephews. He also has a special group of friends that have been dear to him for more than 30 years, affectionately known as The Select Few, Alonzo Dougherty, Claude Smith, Jr. and Levi Burt. The family will receive friends at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd, Dale City, Virginia on Tuesday, October 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at First Mount Zion Baptist Church, 16622 Dumfries Road, Dumfries, Virginia on Wednesday, October 21 at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery on Tuesday, December 29 at 9 a.m. Donations can be made to the Gene Bryson Scholarship Fund, c/o Fort Belvoir Federal Credit Union, 14040 Central Loop, Woodbridge, Virginia 22193.Published by The Washington Post on Oct. 19, 2009.
