Jazz Legacy Foundation 13th Annual Gala Weekend
Hampton, VA | November 5–10, 2025
My wife and I, along with our cousins, attended the Jazz Legacy Foundation’s 13th Annual Gala Weekend in Hampton, Virginia. This was our first time experiencing the event — and from the moment we walked into the hotel, we knew we were in for something special.
A Memorable Arrival
We had barely stepped through the lobby doors when we were welcomed by a spontaneous chat with jazz legend Kim Waters and his daughter. That unexpected greeting set the tone perfectly for the weekend: friendly, intimate, and surrounded by our people.
The festival offered four evening concerts, each running from 5:30 PM to midnight. That’s a lot of music — but the energy stayed high every night.
While the weekend was rooted in smooth jazz, I particularly enjoyed the inclusion of a few R&B acts.
For a first-time attendance, the Jazz Legacy Foundation Gala delivered everything we hoped for:
- World-class music
- A welcoming atmosphere
- The chance to meet and mingle with artists
It’s safe The foundation clearly knows how to create a weekend that blends top-tier musicianship, fundraising and Black love.
