Member’s Grandson Teaching in Korea

Isaiah Wright, the grandson of Club member Howard Gholson and nephew of Club member Jay Gholson and a Club Scholarship recipient, is currently an educator overseas working with DoDEA (Department of Defense Education Activity) instructing health and physical education. He is currently residing in Pyeongtaek, South Korea and working at Humphreys High school. In his first year with DoDEA, Isaiah was nominated for teacher of the year. This was also his first year coaching track and field at Humphreys High school; where he has assisted his students in winning the PAC-WEST KIAC championship consisting of 9 varsity teams, 6 of which are international schools. The team also competed at the Far East championships in Yokota, Japan at the end of April. The team won second place overall and had many athletes placed top 3 in numerous individual events. In his spare time he loves to travel frequently and learn about other cultures. He is currently taking Taekwondo classes and has become a green belt while also working to become fluent in Hangul, the language of Korea. Isaiah is also active with his fraternity out there, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated (Mu Phi Lambda Chapter) serving as the Director of Education. Isaiah recently started working with a company in Seoul, MoSports, a recovery running/ hiking  club and clothing brand coaching young adults in a two hour session at Olympic Park in Seoul once a month. He is also planning his next business venture with his spouse
